Why Do We Age?
Is there a fountain of youth? Of course, the fountain of youth is a myth. Although immortality is not yet a reality, longer life and a more youthful look are both possible. The best way to obtain youth is from within. A raw vegan diet with moderate exercise seems to have the best results.
There are also ways to regain your youthful looks externally. Before we get to that option, allow me to shed a little more light on what happens when we age.
Human aging, according to science is referred to as senescence. This word implies a degeneration that manifests itself as people get older. Scientists believe that senescence is the result of a biochemical deregulation that is a natural part of life.
The effects of senescence differ among different species. A bat and a rodent are both mammals and both are of the same size, yet a bat typically lives longer than a rodent. A bat lives 10 to 15 times longer. The life expectancy for a rodent is 2 - 3 years and up to 30 years for a bat.
Some species such as the rockfish, turtles, and lobsters have a trait known as the negligible senescence. This trait enables these specific animals to live much longer compared to other species, up to an unbelievable life span of 200 years.

Extensive studies has led scientists to conclude that this peculiar trait is a result of evolutionary and genetic factors. Unfortunately, scientists find it hard to pass this kind of trait to humans. The reason is humans live in a completely different environment.
The good news is that we can determine the various factors that create aging and address these factors accordingly. The number one aging factor is stress. What this means is that constant beatings and punishments that our bodies take from everyday tasks will lead to hormone disturbance which can ultimately lead to cell damage.
In addition, it has been learned that the degeneration of the hypothalamus, a gland in your head, is a determining factor of aging. The hypothalamus is solely responsible for sending various hormones to other glands. Over time, the hypothalamus tends to send improper amounts of hormones to other glands. This imbalance leads to hormone levels that can damage tissues. Tissue damage equals aging.
Environmental factors are also reasons for aging. Pollution, radiation, and contaminants coupled with stress, poor nutrition, and lack of proper exercise can and will inflict damage on human cells.

Your cells play a very important role in the process. When a cell reproduces or divides itself, it duplicates the previous cell that it originated from. If that previous cell is damaged, new cells will duplicate the damage. A trend of degenerated cells begins which leads to the aging process.
Of the scientific theories that relate to the process of aging, the Free Radical Theory is the most popular. This Free Radical theory suggests that extremely reactive chemicals (free radicals) are responsible for damage to the human body's tissues. The same free radicals are not totally bad for the body since they also serve numerous purposes for the body's development.
What is damaging to your body, especially to your tissues, is the free radicals' ability to reproduce itself in excessive amounts. Free radicals have an extra electron which makes them more capable of stealing electrons from other molecules which they tend to do frequently. This act subsequently leads to a very dangerous cycle that can burnout the cells from constantly repairing damaged molecules.

Based on these various aging theories, medical solutions have been devised to combat aging. One of the most common solutions is taking vitamin C and E supplements. These vitamins combat stress and balance out the damage induced by free radicals in the body. A most effective step to combat aging is to reduce your intake of junk foods and replace them with healthier food choices such as fruits and vegetables.
Another method to combat the toll of aging is through the consumption of HGH or Human Growth Hormone (HGH) precursors. These supplements stimulate the body's production of HGH. This supplement is also believed to help to lower cholesterol plus help to improve brain, vision, and immune function.
HGH studies are conflicting, in other words, some say it works, some say no. See "HGH and Weight Loss" Article.

As far as weight loss, I give HGH a thumbs down. As far as anti aging, HGH has persistently and consistently been touted as an important ally for anti-aging. According to the Mayo Clinic the benefit of HGH for aging is yet unclear.
A review of 31 studies (Harvard Health), which meant a combined number of 220 participants who received GH and 227 who did not. The GH recipients did gain an average of 4.6 pounds of lean muscle mass and shed a similar mass of body fat. The GH recipients however experienced side effects such as join pain, breast enlargement, carpel tunnel syndrome, and fluid retention. According to Harvard health, more study is needed.

Conclusion:
Improved diet and exercise, vitamin C and E, and less stress are probably your best options to counter the effects of aging. If you choose to increase your GH levels, injection is very expensive ($500 to $1000+ per month).
Many supplements claim to help the body to produce more Growth Hormone. According to most websites that have one intention only and that intention is to sell you an HGH supplement, this supplementation is the easiest way to regain your youth.
Although it is true that our levels of HGH drop as we age, that is normal for most of us. If you think that your GH levels are low, see your doctor, before making any decisions.
The jury is still out regarding GH and HGH supplements.
Thank you for reading, my friends. I wish you success on your weight loss Journey.
