![]() The #21 is certainly an important milestone when we reach our 21st birthday. In the world of weight loss, the #21 is also an important milestone. The number 21 is important because science tells us that an action that is repeated daily for 21 days becomes a HABIT. Successful weight loss, both long term and short term boils down to improving our habits. Repeating improved eating and exercise routines for 21 days helps us to make these changes a habit. Habit can then help make these changes become permanent. What does this mean to you? When making your weight loss commitment, you should be thinking long term as well as short term, but at the least make a minimum of a 30 day commitment to get past the habit stage. Some plans to lose weight are 21 day plans. The potential problem that you face with these short sighted plans is that when your body and mind are ready to get started, your plan is ending. Shedding a few pounds for summer or for a particular occasion or event is like telling yourself that it will be OK to go back to your present bad habits after you have worked hard to improve them. I hope that you can see there might be a flaw in that kind of approach. ![]() "Going in" with a 30 day commitment is NOT what I recommend, since that commitment will often mentally end after 30 days. Thus your weight loss plans will probably end soon after. On the other hand, 30 days does give you enough time to create some new and improved habits. Hopefully, in those 30 days, you will feel and look so much better that you will not want to go back to your old habits. "Going in" with a short term and a long term strategy for losing weight is best, but if you only have a short term strategy. please make sure that it is longer than 21 days. I thank you for reading, my friends. I wish you much success on your weight loss journey. Kind regards, George Pierce Win At Losing Weight Founder Advertisement: ![]() |
