What is the Belly Fat Cure?

The Belly Fat Cure is the name of a book by Jorge Cruise, as well as the weight loss plan that Jorge outline in his book.

How does it work?

Cruise's system is not about eating less or exercising more.  Jorge claims that the only way to lose weight is to lower insulin.  Lower insulin, according to Jorge, unlocks unwanted fat, especially belly fat.  He set a daily sugar value vs. carb value per day, S/C Value™, of 15 g of sugar and 6 servings of carbs.  These daily values help you stay away from sugary sweets and processed carb which Jorge claims are what keep insulin levels high and are responsible for belly fat.

The Belly Fat Cure provides a Carb Swap System™, which promises that you will lose between four and nine pounds per week.

You have 5 seven-day meal plans to choose from as outlined in the "One-Week Challenge and Beyond" chapters. Menus such as  Carb Lover, Meat Madness, Chicken and Seafood, and  Quick and Easy and Sweet Bites are available. . You  have the option of following each menu exactly for an entire week or to follow one menu for one day and switch to a new menu the next. Jorge includes a "No-Excuses Day" menu that he describes as a basis for the Belly Fat Cure.

The menu includes the following:

Breakfast: Three whole eggs, sunny-side up and two pieces of toast with butter
Snack: A small handful of walnuts
Lunch: Tuna salad in one piece of pita
Snack: One cup of cottage cheese sprinkled with an "approved sweetener"
Dinner: Grilled chicken or steak with sautéed vegetables and a half cup brown rice
Eight to 10 glasses of water
One Zevia soda
Spry gum

You will also find in his book, 100 "Belly Good Carb Swap Meals", "Carb Swap Products", and a "Carb Swap Food List" which covers 800 everyday food items from which you can choose.

Does it work?

Yes.  Any diet that restricts sugar and carbs should help you to lose pounds.

Positives:

Jorge claims that the Belly Fat Cure is a lifestyle choice and not a diet.

You should lose weight.

According to Jorge, “About 200 years ago, daily consumption of sugar was under 15 grams… Guess what you didn’t see much of then? Belly fat.”

The apples and bananas have too much sugar for this diet.

Negatives;

15g of sugar is too restrictive, a medium banana is about 14 g of sugar, a medium apple about 19 g of sugar, and a large orange about 17 g of sugar.

A lifestyle is exactly what you want for a long term eating plan, but the Belly Fat Cure is way too limiting to be a lifestyle.

Limiting sugar intake is wise, but there is no evidence that 15 g is an optimal number.

Many users complain that there is not enough information to help them sustain this diet.

Weight loss of four to nine pounds per week is too much for most people.

Exercise it not included.

Conclusion:

I am disappointed with the Belly Fat Cure.  Not only has Jorge Cruise done a total flip flop from his previous diets, his diet does not include caloric or nutritional info.It also seems high on  dietary intake of cholesterol and sodium and low in calcium and fiber.  I find it too restrictive to be able to last you for the long term.  I give the Belly Fat Cure two thumbs down.

Thank you, my friend, for reading.  I wish you success on your weight loss quest.

Kindest Regards,
